LearningFlow LearningFlow vs Google Gemini
Gemini is a very good assistant for one person, and if your school already runs Google Workspace it arrives under a contract you have signed. LearningFlow is built the other way round, for work the organisation keeps and hands to a class as an assignment.

Choose Google Gemini if
Choose Gemini when staff need one strong assistant inside the Google tools they already have open.
- Your school runs Workspace for Education, so Gemini for Education is already included, even on free Fundamentals.
- A head of year has to read a 40 page inspection report and argue with it for an hour.
- You want drafting inside Gmail, Docs and Slides rather than in another browser tab.
Choose LearningFlow if
Choose LearningFlow when the thing you build has to reach learners, come back, and outlast the person who made it.
- A Year 7 quiz goes to 120 students by join code and comes back as attempts.
- A trainer needs a narrated MP4 with burned in subtitles, in 9:16 for phones.
- Your timetable software calls the marking tool at 6am every Monday with an api key.

The account holds the work.
Someone has to ask her to hand it over, or it goes with her.
The work was made on a personal login, so recovering it is a favour rather than a setting. Schools discover this in August, when the person who built the scheme of work no longer answers email.
The organisation holds the work.
Ms Okafor's key is revoked. The work has not moved.
People hold keys, not possessions. Removing someone removes their key. Whoever teaches 6C next September opens the same library and the same base, on their first morning, without asking anyone for a copy.

Where Gemini is the better choice
If your school already runs Google Workspace for Education, Gemini for Education and Gemini Notebook are included in every edition, including free Fundamentals, under the contract, sign in and admin console you have already approved. Nothing here matches that, and no procurement cycle we could offer would be shorter. For open ended thinking, reading a long document, drafting and arguing back, a frontier chat assistant is better than anything in LearningFlow. Many teachers should keep one and use us for the work that has to reach a class.

Before they decide.
We already have Workspace for Education. Why would we pay for anything else?
You would not replace Gemini with this. The gap is the school shaped part: a learner account type, an assignment that comes back, and tools the organisation keeps. The included Gemini is also metered, and the free Fundamentals edition has the tightest limits on Deep Research reports and Notebook overviews.
Can we run both, and is there a migration?
Yes, and most schools should. Teachers keep Gemini for drafting in Gmail and Docs, and LearningFlow holds the tools published to the org library and the assignments students sit. There is no importer, so a Gem you like is rebuilt as a flow in Flow Designer, which then sits in the org library the school keeps.
What happens when a teacher leaves in July?
Google's guide to preserving former employee data lists what an admin can hand to another user, including email, Calendar, Chat, Contacts, Drive folders and files and Groups, and says content you do not transfer is deleted. Gemini conversations, Gems and Notebooks are not named in that list, though a Gem owner can pass a Gem to a colleague themselves. In LearningFlow the organisation id is stamped when the object is created and never moves, so removing a member deletes their membership row and not the work.
Is student work used to train models?
It depends entirely on the account. On a Workspace or Education account, Google's service terms say it will not use Customer Data to train or fine tune the models behind Workspace generative AI without your permission, with a documented exception for pre release offerings. On a personal Google account, free or paid, Google says a sample of conversations is reviewed by people, kept for up to three years, and asks you not to enter confidential information.
Can we turn one feature off for one year group?
In Google Admin you switch the Gemini app, Gemini Notebook, Gemini in Classroom and Gemini in each Workspace service, scoped to organisational units or configuration groups, with up to 24 hours to propagate. Google's own admin page warns that Gemini being off in one app does not stop Gemini elsewhere reaching that app's data. In LearningFlow the seven capabilities are switched per member, so a Year 7 teacher can have chat and flow creator without base or solution designer.
